Double Bill for Fairfax City’s Rock the Block

The more than 2,000 people attending the July 26 music concert in downtown Fairfax City were treated to a double bill. Normally, just one band performs during the City’s monthly, summer, music series, Rock the Block. But on that evening, both 2MB and the U.S. Army Band, Downrange, entertained the crowd on the Old Town Square stage.

2MB performed modern country songs, plus some rap, and Downrange mainly played pop rock tunes. Next on tap for Aug. 23 is the high-energy, party-rock band, FireKite. All Rock the Block shows are free and run from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Old Town Square is at the corner of University Drive and North Street.

Although it was the same night as the Olympics’ opening ceremony, music fans packed Old Town Square for the outdoor concert.
