The Mosby Stone Marker at Truro Church in the City of Fairfax. The plaque reads: Here on the night of March 8, 1863, Col. John Singleton Mosby with 29 confederate soldiers penetrate the Union lines of 8,000 men and captured the brick dwelling north of this spot. Brig. General Edwin H. Stoughton, USA, with 100 prisoners and horses. Erected in 1937.
